Brand New Episodes!

I’m very excited to announce that April will see the launch of episodes 05 - 08 of Straight from the Lungs!

Episode 05 - University (9th April)

For a lot of people, going to university or college is a right of passage to finally understand your purpose in life. It’s also the chance to meet lifelong friends and make some amazing memories. But leaving home and taking on a Cystic Fibrosis lifestyle all on your own can be very scary. When you get to university though, you’ll often realise that you’re less alone than ever.

Episode 06 - Work (16th April)

Cystic Fibrosis is no longer a childhood illness. A huge step on the journey to adulthood is getting a job, and it’s a step that the majority of people with CF will be able to take. This is a big change from school or university though because everything you do now impacts not just yourself, but your colleagues, and the boss.

Episode 07 - Hospital (23rd April)

Hospital can feel like a second home for some people with Cystic Fibrosis. We have regular check-ups that last a couple of hours, and if we’re ill it can mean staying in hospital for a couple of weeks. We have many CF teams here in the UK, each with their own specialist staff.

People with Cystic Fibrosis are advised never to meet due to the risk of cross-infection, which can cause quite a few difficulties with work, charity events, and friendships.

Episode 08 - Love (30th April)

When you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, how do you tell them you have something as big as Cystic Fibrosis? It’s tricky enough sometimes for people that have CF to cope with everything; how is someone else going to react when they’re suddenly plunged into this scary new world?
