When you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, how do you tell them you have something as big as Cystic Fibrosis? It’s tricky enough sometimes for people that have CF to cope with everything – how is someone else going to react when they’re suddenly plunged into this scary new world?

Veronika & Kenny

Veronika saw a cute boy on a beach and married him two and a half months later. She catcalled him because her friends told her she wasn't brave enough to do it. Kenny supports Veronika throughout her struggles with Cystic Fibrosis but he understands how important it is to help her live a normal life. Hear more from Veronika & Kenny including how they first approached the subject of CF in this episode's Extra Breaths.

I applaud anybody who loves someone with CF, they deserve just as many pats on the back as we do.
— Veronika

Katie met her boyfriend Michael at the bar he works at. After a couple of drinks, she didn't hold back about her Cystic Fibrosis. Some of Katie's previous relationships have been very emotional because her boyfriends have felt like they needed to take care of her, but Michael has a much healthier attitude. Hear more from Katie about the little things Michael does to support her life with CF in this episode's Extra Breaths.

Dr Helen Barr

Dr Helen Barr is a respiratory consultant at Nottingham's Wolfson Cystic Fibrosis Centre. She speaks about the challenging effect that CF can have on fertility and the difficulties of being pregnant with CF.

Andy has Cystic Fibrosis, but also a loving wife and two children. He went through IVF to have his children and never thought he would be able to become a father, sometimes having to remind himself that it all worked out. Andy tries the best he can to be a good dad and loves spending time with his children.

Brittney has two children. She gave birth to her first child, Carter and chose to adopt her second child, Kace. Despite being a very young child, Carter has learned to wake up and get ready in the morning by himself whilst Brittney is doing her treatments. She also speaks about what people said to her husband when they started dating.

William & Vicky

I met Vicky when I was at university and when we started dating, I sat her down and told her everything about Cystic Fibrosis and how it would affect our relationship. She's stayed by my side ever since and at the start of 2018, we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
